Food & Wine
No matter what your taste buds are craving, there is likely to be a dining option in the West Gippsland region to satisfy even the most discerning gourmet. There is a tantalising trail of culinary discovery awaiting you. From a quick and refreshing coffee and cake alfresco, to a grand dining experience in one of the many fine restaurants, there is a style of eatery to suit every occasion. On menus across West Gippsland you will find the very best cheeses, succulent free range meats, crisp produce and a wonderful collection of hand-crafted wines. Chefs are using more and more local produce with skill and flair when creating their diverse and exciting menus.
During the annual Palate of Passions Festival in February and March, food is celebrated at many events including the signature World's Longest Lunch.
Have a memorable night out with good company at one of West Gippsland's many family friendly country pubs. Whether you stop in Noojee, Neerim South or Rawson, along the way you'll find roaring open fires and hearty pub meals.
If dining out is not your thing, you can pick up gourmet delights at local farmers markets or the many friendly delis and providores along the way. For a sumptious picnic grab a loaf of fresh organic bread, local olives, preserves, meats and internationally award winning soft cheeses. While you're at it pop a few local ales and a nice bottle of the region's best pinot in your basket (and make sure you take home a bottle for your friends!)
